World Ozone Day Celebration, 16th September, 2019

16th September, 2019


The Department Celebrated the World Ozone Day, 2019. On this 

occasion several programs related to environmental awareness 

were organized  - Environmental Quiz, Environmental Quiz, 

Poster Making Competition. The students of all the three 

semesters participated in the program. 


Under the able guidance of Dr. Bharti Singh Raipat (HOD), Mr. 

Manoj Kumar and Mr. Pipas Kumar Co-ordinated the 

Program. Dr. Ritesh Kumar Shukla, Dr. Priyanka Saha and 

Ms. Mouli Chakroborty were present during the program. The 

program was a great success due to the efforts of 

student volunteers : 


Jaya gorai ,NirmalaAkriti,ShashankPrachi ,Pragya and others .

INVITED LECTURE BY DR. ALOK SAHAY, DIRECTOR C.T.R & T.I.

16th September

On  the occassion of World Ozone Day,  Department of Zoology, organized an invited lecture of Dr. Alok Sahay ,Director of Central Tasar Rsearch and Training Institute Ranchi, Jharkhand. Nabor Lakra(VICE PRINCIPAL) Dr. Bharti singh Raitpath(HOD) ,Dr. Venkat Appa Rao,Dr. Ritesh  Shukla , Dr.Priya Srivastava, Mr. Manoj Kumar, Mr. Pipas Kumar and faculty members and students of  department of Zoology, Botany and Biotechnology  were present. 

The programme started with welcome speech by Dr. Priya Srivastava followed by Honouring the guests with  saplings  and memento.

Dr. Alok enlightened the students with knowledge  about labour intensive and ecofriendly Industry of Tasar Silk. Dr. Alok  talked about the silk industry and the recent condition of silk industry in India. He told the students how the silk industry is helping to enhancing economy of India and the role of goverment, tribals and farmer in  the silk production.

He explained  the role of  science and technology used for the silk production. Students  came to know the use of silk byproducts such as sericin ,litter of larva,pupa etc and their growing demand all over the world. 
                                            
 He also shared the fulure plans and schemes that  going to be launched by the silk board and invited the student  to  take part in this. The programme ended with the vote of thanks given by students.

The Program ended with Thanking note by Hera Fatima (Semester V).
