03 June, 2025. St. Xavier's College, Ranchi Zoology Students Kick Off 30-Hour Internship at Ranchi Gaushala Nyas


RANCHI, JHARKHAND  – A unique 30-hour internship program commenced today at the Ranchi Gaushala Nyas, offering students from the Department of Zoology, St. Xavier's College, Ranchi, a hands-on learning experience in cow keeping and dairying.

The program was officially inaugurated with the esteemed presence of Dr. Bharti Singh Raipat, Head of the Department of Zoology, St. Xavier's College, Ranchi. A total of 19 enthusiastic students are participating in this intensive internship, eager to gain practical knowledge and insights into the traditional and modern practices of gaushala management.




Over the next few days, the interns will delve into various aspects of bovine care, including animal nutrition, health management, breeding practices, and sustainable dairy operations. This initiative aims to bridge the gap between theoretical classroom learning and practical application, providing students with valuable exposure to the intricacies of livestock management within a real-world setting.

"We are incredibly excited about this collaboration with Ranchi Gaushala Nyas," said Dr. Bharti Singh Raipat. "This internship provides our students with an unparalleled opportunity to understand the practicalities of zoology beyond textbooks, particularly in the vital areas of animal husbandry and dairy science. Ranchi, Jharkhand – June 2, 2025 – The Department of Zoology at St. Xavier's College, Ranchi, today inaugurated its highly anticipated one-month Summer Internship Program, a pioneering initiative designed to immerse students in cutting-edge scientific disciplines. The program, commencing on June 2, 2025, offers three distinct courses: Natural Science, Nanotechnology, and Microbiology, each providing 30 hours of comprehensive theoretical knowledge and invaluable hands-on experience. 34 students from Ranchi Women's College, Ranchi and Yogoda Satsang College, have registered themselves for the internship program. 

The inauguration ceremony, held at the college premises, was graced by a distinguished gathering of faculty members, college management, and an esteemed external academician. The Department of Zoology was well represented by its dedicated faculty, including Dr. N. V. A. Rao, Dr. Ritesh Kumar Shukla, Dr. Priya Srivastava, Dr. Manoj Kumar, Dr. Rakesh Ranjan, Ms. Mouli Chakroborty, and Ms. Vanshika Lohia.









From the college management, Vice Principal, Fr. Dr. Ajay Arun Minz, and Registrar, Fr. Dr. Prabhat Kennedy Sorenge, were present, underscoring the institution's commitment to fostering scientific temper and practical learning. The ceremony also saw the esteemed presence of Dr. Ankit, Faculty, Department of Zoology, Yogoda Satsang College, further highlighting the collaborative spirit within the academic community.

The program aims to equip students with a robust understanding of these dynamic fields, preparing them for future academic pursuits and careers. The meticulously designed curriculum ensures a balanced approach, integrating theoretical lectures with practical laboratory sessions to provide a holistic learning experience.

The inauguration ceremony concluded with a heartfelt Vote of Thanks proposed by Ms. Mouli Chakroborty, expressing gratitude to all attendees and contributors.

Following a brief 15-minute break, the introductory session commenced, setting the stage for the month-long immersive learning journey. Dr. Manoj Kumar, Dr. Rakesh Ranjan, Ms. Mouli Chakroborty, and Ms. Vanshika Lohia took center stage to introduce the students to the intricate course contents of Nanotechnology, Microbiology, and Natural Sciences. They emphasized the profound importance and real-world applications of each discipline, inspiring the interns to delve deep into the fascinating world of science.
